SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICE

Brent has a very high teenage pregnancy rate compared with the national average. The Sexual Health Service aims to help reduce that figure by providing easy access specifically for young people. It will be developed in partnership and staffed initially by a medical practitioner, a specialist nurse and a counsellor. The service would provide initially:

It is proposed that a Sexual Health Worker, the Social Worker and other members of our staff would promote the service around Brent particularly in locations where young people study or meet socially. Through outreach work we would also build collaborative partnerships with other agencies to support the needs of young people using this service. Our Mental Health Service would provide a referral base to help young people with mental and emotional problems.
